How well do you remember your wedding day?

  • How well do you remember your wedding day? If you’re like a lot of overwhelmed brides and grooms, you’ll have a vague recollection of being dressed up, of putting rings on each other’s fingers, of kissing across an altar, and a plethora of people hugging and congratulating you. Unfortunately for the human mind, the exact details of that special day fade with time until you couldn’t say for sure who was there, or what the wedding officiator said. The best way to preserve those memories? Pictures, of course. Do you remember spending some large sum of money on a photographer that ran around, bumped into people, and ordered you to smile when you felt like your cheeks were about to break? What happened to all of the pictures you purchased, anyway?

  • Many of those pictures never get printed or seen by anyone. Not only is this a gargantuan waste of money, it also deprives you of the chance to relive your fond memories of that day, or to display them for all to see. Don’t let this happen to you. If it’s been a few years since your wedding, it’s never too late to get those pictures printed and put on display.

  • Framing options

  • In case you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of options to consider when framing photographs. You can have large prints made, matted, and framed to hang on your most conspicuous wall. You can get one of those collage frames that allows you to display multiple photos of varying sizes and shapes simultaneously. Or, you can get a few small frames and create your own wall display. It’s all up to you, your budget, and your own creativity. The main things to consider are the layout of your room and the number of pictures you'd like to exhibit. Don’t put too many pictures on the same wall and consider staggering the layout and size of your pictures, so they don’t appear too uniform.

  • Photo albums and scrapbooking

  • For your wedding pictures, consider splurging a little on a nicer album. Not only will it be a more attractive setting for your pictures, it should be more durable so that in 20 or 30 years you won’t end up with a disintegrating album, or the loss of your photos. One of the most fun things to do in albums and scrapbooks is to include captions or vignettes to go along with pictures. This is easier to do if you put together the albums right away when the funny moments and great one-liners are still fresh on your mind.

  • Multi-media

  • With today’s technology, you don’t have to stick with the traditional framed pictures and photo albums. Numerous Internet companies allow you to upload your pictures and create neat photo projects, such as photo books, calendars, mugs, T-shirts, and even mouse pads. These are especially fun to make as thank you gifts for the people who made your wedding come together (i.e. parents, in-laws, siblings, bridesmaids, etc.).

  • You wedding lasted for a day, but the memories can last a lifetime if you preserve them carefully. No matter how long it’s been since your wedding, get some pictures printed now and display them to remind you of how you and your spouse felt that day. Maybe the sight of them will even rekindle some of that newlywed romance and fan that old flame of passion into life, once again.
