Every woman's life completely changes when she has a baby -but can you imagine the change this mother faced when she gave birth to not one, but eight children at the same time? This is the reality mom Natalie Suleman faced just a few short years ago.
Mother of 14
Suleman always wanted a big family. After having six children, she decided to do IVF to get pregnant again. To her surprise, she got pregnant with eight babies.
She became known as the "octomom" after giving birth to the eight babies in 2009. She didn't realize how much attention she and her babies would get from the media ... From day one, Suleman and her kiddos were famous.
While Suleman was in the hospital to give birth, a nurse called the press about the incredible birth happening - eight healthy babies, at one time! From that moment forward, the world has followed her story.
Now, eight years after the octuplets were born, Suleman showed a small part of her daily routine on The Doctors, and had each one of her octuplets on the show to chat about their eighth birthday.
One busy schedule
The busy mom doesn't have a nanny to help with the kids, so her days are pretty full. She said, "I do everything. I don't have any help. I've had no nanny since my eight were about two,"
"Every day I wake up around five and get the kids ready for school. I work with Aidan, who's 11 and is disabled, to get him ready, and one of my twins is autistic [Calyssa, 9] so I give her extra nurturing and attention. Then are four school drop-offs!"
According to People, Suleman spends the day cooking, working and exercising while the kids are in school. She said, "The ... kids and I are vegan - which means zero fast food - so I will cook two to three hours a day. The food is like a full-time job right there. It's non-stop."
