I always loved the movie "When Harry Met Sally". I loved the idea of two best friends falling in love and living happily ever after. That's the dream, isn't it? If you're lucky enough to have married your best friend, you just love telling everyone why it's the absolute best.
Here are 12 things you can add to that list:
1. You two share the best inside jokes
So what if nobody else understands what you're talking about? Truth be told, you love being able to just say one little word to get your honey laughing. It's like your own secret language that only you two know.
As much as your friends may judge you two for it, you both love pineapple on pizza. There are minor scuffles over the crumbs left in the bag of salt & vinegar chips, but you two don't have to argue over the remote every night because you watch all the same things - the real struggle (and crime) is when one of you watches the new episode of Chopped without the other.
3. You two have developed the same habits
You've caught yourself saying the same silly phrases your sweetheart says. And if you think about it, you realize you two share the same hobbies now, too. You do everything together, so it's like you two are beginning to morph into one person - and you find that adorable.
4. You can tease each other
They just get your sense of sarcasm, so you don't have to worry about walking on eggshells when you talk to them. And they don't have to worry about hurting your feelings, either. Did I mention that you two are basically the same person?
You've seen all sides of each other, so you're not afraid to be silly. In fact, you love getting silly with each other. You two know how to have the most fun, and you feel sorry for the couples constantly worried about impressing each other.
6. You can be completely honest with them
Whatever it is you're thinking or feeling, you know you can talk to them about it in confidence, and they'll do the same with you. You two have no secrets with each other - just the way true best friends should have it.
7. You know they would do anything for you
...and you'd do anything for them. That's the best kind of relationship anyway, isn't it? You two would never take advantage of this, either, so you know you can completely trust each other with anything - no matter what comes your way.
8. They always know exactly how to cheer you up
No matter what kind of a day you're having, they know exactly what you need. Sometimes you need a good laugh, but other times you just want to cuddle up with your best friend (and spouse) and cry. Whatever it is, they're there for you.
9. You two can do absolutely nothing together and still have fun
Boredom isn't a thing when you two are together. You can make a game out of anything and create the best memories no matter where you are.
10. You know there's no fight that can't be resolved
Because you two are best friends, you know how to communicate and resolve any issues that might come your way. You aren't afraid of addressing any problems, either, because you know there's no problem you two can't fix together.
You can just look at them a certain way and they know exactly what's going on in your head. If you're ready to leave a party, they'll make an excuse for why you two need to leave without you having to say a word. Isn't that just the best?
12. There's no one else you'd rather spend forever with
You really hit the jackpot with this one. You never imagined you'd be lucky enough to fall in love with your best friend. And you can't wait for the years to come.
