Life is fragile. One moment it can be great, and the next your world can completely fall apart. Luckily, there are wonderful people in this world who are willing to give a helping hand to those in need.
Amanda and her husband had been trying to get pregnant for almost three years. Finally, they were able to conceive a child.
It was an exciting time for the family, as they had recently moved into a new house and were in the process of remodeling. Everything was in place for the baby to arrive. Things were perfect.
When Amanda was 36 weeks pregnant, her husband decided to leave her and their child. Now a single mom-to-be, she was scared and alone. In an interview she said, "The biggest thing was just the shock I guess because it wasn't really what we planned or what I planned. It's very difficult."
She also mentioned that they put a lot of money into the house and she wanted to raise her child there, but she was worried she wouldn't be able to afford the home.
An Australian radio showheard about Amanda's situation and they decided to help her out. They called Amanda to come on the show to talk about her new baby, but actually surprised the mother-to-be with something that changed her life.
During the interview, Amanda was instructed to look at the video screen behind her in the studio. To her amazement, her new home was on the television. The radio producers and other sponsoring companies had left all kinds of gifts throughout her house. A cameraman walked through Amanda's home and showed her all of her gifts while she was still on the radio show.
Amanda had been given a cleaning service for the next six months, a meal delivery service that would deliver food to her every day for the next three months, and thousands of dollars' worth of baby gear.
That wasn't all though. When the cameraman approached the oven, everyone was shocked when he revealed a stack of cash - $10,000 total - hiding inside. Amanda was crying by this point, and showed extreme gratitude (and surprise) at the generosity this radio program had shown her.
I can't imagine the pain of being abandoned by a husband, especially just weeks from giving birth. Luckily, this new mom has many people to help her raise her baby and give the child the best life possible.
