It's easy to become so busy and consumed with your job, family, stress and other parts of daily life that you forget to take care of yourself. I don't mean eating and taking a shower, but more about your mental health and well-being.
When we put the wants and needs of others ahead of our own to an excessive amount- to the point that our own well-being is suffering- we need to take a step back and pay attention to what we need. If not, we won't be able to care for anyone else, and could suffer even worse consequences.

You need to take care of yourself and give yourself time to recharge if you want to be able to help anyone else. You can't give water from an empty well. With all the busyness of life, and all the demands we place on ourselves and from others, we also need to remember to be gentle with ourselves. We can't do it all and things won't go well. And that's okay. Remember to be kind and recognize your efforts as progress.
