You finally have your Mr. Right and life is good. You wake up in the morning next to the man you love and nothing can destroy that happiness that you feel.
But how can you be sure it will be forever?
Here are some questions to ask yourself to know that he will be there for you always:
Does he light up when you enter a room?
It does not matter where you are, his expression always changes when he sees you. A smile will form across his face. He gets a little spring in his step. Your husband chose you for a reason. You light up his life. Keep an eye out for that reaction - it's a dead giveaway of his true feelings for you.
You probably aren't going to have a husband who brings you home flowers everyday. But the husband who does not forget birthdays or attempts a romantic evening for your anniversary is the husband who is still crazy in love with you. Those small kind gestures are expressions of his love and commitment towards you.
Does he value your opinion?
You are valuable to him; what you think and say will always matter. If he is asking what you think about his tie or what phone plan you think is better, it is because he values you as a woman and as his wife. If you answer "yes" to this questions, it looks like you're in it for the long haul with this one, but that's okay!
Does he talk to you about his problems and decisions?
A man who is devoted to his marriage will share his burdens with his wife. If he speaks with you when he feels troubled or lost, he is seeking your support and comfort. As his wife, be there for him.
Does he ask you questions and listen to what you say?
He is just as curious about your thoughts as you are about his. If he asks you questions it's because he sincerely and deeply cares for you.
Does he remind you of how much he loves you?
Communication is key in marriages; he needs to reassure you that he is going to be the person there for you through the thick and thin. He may remind you with a simple kiss or leaving a note that says "I love you".
Does his family love you?
His family's approval is a bigger deal than most women make it out to be. Now, you have a family who is on your side along with a husband. Plus, it never hurts to have your mother-in-law advising her son on how to love and treat his wife.
I know this sounds strange but talking about getting a dog together is basically the step you take before having kids. Your pet will practically serve as your child until the day you both decide to start having kids.
Does he make your marriage a priority?
Does he put in the time to make things work? If you disagree, is he open to negotiate? If he puts in an effort to fix things and make your marriage a happy one, you know you are a priority.
Forever is something special. If you want your marriage to last forever, then you act differently than you would with something you don't expect to last long. Pledge to be patient and love your spouse. Marriage won't always be easy, but true love is worth it. Loving each other too much to give up means you'll be with each other forever.
