  • Dressing up for a special occasion but don't know how to tie your tie? Don't worry - it's simple.

  • Step 1

  • Start by wrapping the tie around your neck with the wide end on the right side and the small end on the left. Be sure the wide end sits lower than the other, close to your belly button.

  • Step 2

  • Cross the wide end in front of the small end to the left of your body, making an X.

  • Step 3

  • Wrap the wide end underneath and pull it through the loop you've just made, away from your body.

  • Step 4

  • Bring it back to the left side and move it behind the loop, bringing it towards the right of your body.

  • Step 5

  • Bring the wide end back up towards the neck and push it into the loop, towards your body. Then, pull it through and place it to the left side.

  • Step 6

  • Pull it straight across and in front of the loop from left to right.
