His net worth is $400 million. He has interviewed thousands of celebrities, is considered the richest late-night show host and had four United States presidents salute him farewell for his last show. But despite all the fanfare of his last show as host of The Late Show, David reminded fans about the one thing that's most important in life: his family.
As the camera showed his wife, Regina, and 11-year-old son, Harry, he gave a sincere thank you and then added this gem of a tribute, "I love you both and really nothing else matters, does it?"
His sentiments were followed by an adorable wave to his bashful son. Regina returned the affection by blowing him a kiss.
David's tribute also included his mom, Dorothy Mengering, who appeared on his show several times.
"Thank you. Just seriously, thank you for being my family."
