Do you sometimes have a cynical view of homeless people and what they do with monetary donations?
One man, Josh, sets out to prove the ill-intentions of homeless people. He decides to set up a sting to catch a homeless person using donations to buy alcohol or drugs.
He finds Thomas, holding a sign and asking for help on a street corner, and gives him $100. Unbeknownst to the homeless man, Josh and his crew follow with a hidden camera to capture what follows. As they expect, Thomas heads to Euclid Liquor Mart.
But, don't be too quick to judge. Instead, you'll want to grab the tissues!
Josh follows Thomas from the liquor store to a park where Thomas begins handing out food to a couple of other homeless people and then to another homeless family. He uses the $100 to help others - not to buy alcohol.
Josh catches up with Thomas, apologizing for his harsh assumptions and giving Thomas another $100. He finds that Thomas became homeless not because of his own poor choices but because of family illness and medical bills.
We need to be more compassionate and judge less. We don't know individual circumstances. Yes, there will always be people who behave dishonestly, but that is not our place to decide. What is our place is to help others.
