Have you ever wished you could make someone's day happier? Sometimes all it takes is a simple act of kindness.
A few Good Samaritans showed their kindness one day that will bring you to tears. They are a part of a group called reKindle that distributes backpacks filled with necessities like toiletries, socks and snacks to homeless people. On this particular day, they met Albert, a 66-year-old man. After giving him the backpack filled with supplies, they found out it was his 66th birthday. All Albert wanted for his special day was to go see a show at the movie theater and get something to eat.
The men then hand Albert some money to cover the cost and tell him "Happy birthday." Albert is overcome with gratitude and the men hug and cry together. These men had been the answer to Albert's prayers. "Can't nobody tell me God ain't good. I'm 66, and that proves it right there....I knew God was gonna send me somebody!" he said.
It's a gesture so seemingly small, yet it made a difference to Albert.
Spreading love and kindness comes in many different forms. Some are big while others are small; a smile, a hug, a warm meal, a place to sleep or a shoulder to cry on. No matter the method, you will never regret being too kind.
If you would like to get your family involved with helping the homeless or less fortunate in your own community, or in other parts of the world, here are 5 easy ways to get you started. Regardless of what you have or don't have, you can still make a difference in the lives of others.
